Howling Wind

By the look, it takes up less space than a slate,
but is actually omnipresent.
When he rises, it’s as if a tremendous grief in motion,
not a house
can contain it.
His insatiable appetite upsets the equilibrium
and ruins the lovely night.
What’s the point of weeping, a heavy rain
only means extra work to clear the floor before takeoff.
He considers taking a sheep for a feat, or just grabbing something,
but before that, all the weightless things in the world
are exposed.
